Joy Talbot Lifter
I have been lifting kettlebells since 2011. I entered my first competition in 2012 and from that day I have been competing whenever I can.I have represented England on two occasions travelling to Ireland and Loutraki, Greece. Being selected to be a member of the England team is probably my proudest moment in kettlebell sport..
Joanne Tonkin Mother & Son Training
Kettlebell sport allows me to be able to train alongside my son. I like being part of a fab team; trained with them for 2 years and 8 months now. I like the challenge with kettlebell sport, both physically and mentally and also the people I’ve met on my journey.
Becky Fraser Lifestyle
I started Kettlebell Sport back October 2013. I love how friendly and supportive the community is.Since starting I’ve been lucky enough to be on the England team, something I never imagined I’d do! I find that the sport fits perfectly with my lifestyle, I’m a mum with two young children and so I train at home and use an online coach, getting to the local Kettlebell club whenever time allows.
There are many competitions for lifters to compete in throughout the year. You only need to be a member of the English squad for the European and World events. Have a look at what is coming up and consider joining in! Grassroots competitions are great to get an introduction to the sport. GSU competitions are a step above with the full ten minute/marathon lifts, and often qualifying events for the squad.
There is also the online championship run by EKA during the summer. Click here for more details and to enter or submit a lift video. It is open to lifters all over the world, and members of EKA get a reduced rate of entry.View The Calendar
