To all Athletes, Coaches, and Supporters,
The countdown is on! The IUKL World Championship 2025 in Kettlebell Lifting will take place in Kalisz, Poland, from October 15th–20th, 2025 – and the English Kettlebell Association (EKA) is proud to see our athletes preparing to step onto the world stage. This prestigious event will unite the best lifters from across the globe in a true celebration of strength, endurance, and international sporting spirit.
As we get closer, here are some important reminders:
EKA Expectations: Please review and uphold the standards set by the Association. These reflect the professionalism and respect we want Team England to be known for (bottom of email).
Kit Requirements: Ensure you have the correct kit in line with regulations. Double-check early to avoid last-minute issues; think about your belt, shorts, t-shirts, wrist guards etc.
Flights & Travel: If you haven’t already, secure your flights and accommodation.
other costs: ensure you pay your fee to the EKA and use your name as the reference (sort code: 52-30-18 account: 33648778) or via paypal (membership@@englishkettlebells.org) and remember to check if you need to pay any license fees for the IUKL too.
Weight Categories & Weigh-In: Be clear on your required category and official weigh-in schedule. Preparation here is key!
👉 We’ve included links to regulations, requirements, and key resources – please take time to go through them carefully.
A special mention goes to our under-18 lifters who will be representing England with courage and determination. Taking such a bold step onto the world platform at their age is nothing short of inspiring – congratulations to them for their confidence and commitment!
Whether you’re competing or cheering from the sidelines, your support is what makes Team England strong. Let’s come together, lift with pride, and show the world what we’re capable of.
See you in Poland!

General Expectations for 2025
Behave in a professional manner: you’re representing yourself, your club and your country.
Enjoy yourself, whist considering your impact on others. Please respect your host and their local culture and moderate your language (especially around junior lifters). Also comply with eating and drinking regulations at the host venue.
Be at your best to lift - well prepared, rested, fuelled, hydrated and sober!
Make sure you know the dates of your competition, including weigh-in, start, finish and medal ceremonies. These follow no set pattern. Check for updates and plan travel and accommodation accordingly.
There will be a Team Captain for each international competition. They will be in touch with you before the event and will organise a briefing, either virtual or face to face. They are the interface with the host organisation. Keep in touch with them for arrival times, changes and your general whereabouts.
During the event and while at the arena, we want to feel like a team so please wear an England T-shirt.
For Opening Ceremonies, please wear full England Team Kit (see below). If only a part of the team can parade at the Opening Ceremony, the Captain will decide attendance. This is usually newest, and youngest, team members.
For medal ceremonies, please wear full England Team Kit.
If you can, please stay at the venue to support the team. If you are not needed for lifting/medals/anti-doping/cheering, please keep your phone on, for updates from the Captain.
We encourage everyone to obtain a judging qualification, and to gain experience, and confidence, by judging at local and national competitions. Uniquely, the IKMF requires the EKA to provide the same number of judges as lifts entered. Therefore athletes going to IKMF competitions should expect to judge the same number of events they enter. Please let an EKA committee member know if there are reasons why you cannot complete the judging qualification.
To enter an international event athletes must belong to the EKA and have no payment arrears e.g. membership fees, judging fees, T-shirts.
The EKA operates a zero tolerance policy on doping. Any team member found to be doping will be banned from competing for the EKA.
